My wife and I discovered this lovely little place in Bristol! The staff are very friendly, there is no shortage of fun board and card games to play, and the cocktails are delicious! I highly recommend the Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini.
The place to come if you want to drink an espresso while sitting on a swing (though those 2 tables tend to be the most popular). A bit too small to get the laptop out, but perfect place to meet friends and have a catch up. Good selection of boardgames too!
Excellent coffee, tea, and selection of board games. My favourite games are backgammon and coup but theres tons more :) Both Lilly and Fabian are amazing and so is their staff who always greet us a with a smile and some home baked cake. Recently they're open for drinks, craft beer and sophisticated cocktails - couldn't recommend Playground more. Local, honest, and high quality in the heart of Bristol.

Wow, what a quirky little coffee shop. Has a good a selection of tea and coffee, also has a nice selection of cakes and pastries. The most appealing part of this coffee shop has to be the swing seats they have there. There also plenty of board games available to play as well. Service is very friendly and welcoming.
Just the space you need after a heavy meal in a crowded place. My partner and I came across this bar on our vacation here and 100% recommend. The most quiet and intimate bar, student friendly too which brought back memories of when I was student in such a vibrant town. Bristol has lots to offer but if you're looking for an inexpensive and quiet bar for the introverted like myself this it! Felt very at ease and the bar lady was incredibly kind, keep it up and I shall be returning again next time no doubt!
The Institute of Historical Research's network for early-career historians, HistoryLab, hosted an informal peer-support and networking event at Playground Coffee and Bar on 19 December 2024. Vince and the entire Playground team were fantastic - so friendly, the organising process and set up on the day were easy, the drinks delicious - such a lovely, relaxing space ...the organising team sneakily returned later that day for drinks and board games. A very special day! Thank you all! If you'll have us, we will be returning.
Super friendly staff, great cocktails too! Really kickstarted our evening! We had a negroni and a margarita! Tasty and refreshing! Good atmosphere for a quiet cocktail in the sun!
